Facebook is once again worried about Twitter or Snapchat? Actually concerned about TikTok

Previously, I had published a study that detailed how the supposedly “TikTok Brain” was stimulating parts of the brain connected with addictions. This research illuminated the concern that younger children are especially much more vulnerable to the endless scrolling of TikTok.

According to The Guardian, TikTok is about to do something never thought possible. It is on track to surpass Twitter and Snapchat for global advertising. In addition, if its current performance continues, it will catch up with YouTube with $23.6 billion in ad revenue.

On April 6th, 2022, a Yahoo Finance news report revealed that TikTok became the most popular app for teenagers.

Reasons why TikTok will continue to dominate other social apps

TikTok benefitted from the COVID lockdowns and the free publicity by former President Donald Trump. So much effort was made to ban the app and never came to fruition.

The app continues to evolve, and it set the trend that shorter videos were better than longer videos. This is especially baffling since YouTube and Facebook dominated the space until TikTok changed the dynamics with its unique algorithm and For You Page.

What do you think will happen next?
