Thanks for providing this post and perspective. I see Google as a corporation that does "good" and "bad" depending on who you ask. In the case of journalism, I think they have gotten away with a lot and not repercussions. Especially when you know how they built their search engine by scanning books from libraries across the U.S. and got off the hook. There are certain things you can automate and the process to create quality journalism has nothing to do with algorithms.
