TikTok Sued By The State Of Indiana Over Security and Child Safety Violations

After the revelations that the Chinese government was accessing user data in the United States comes a new twist. According to the BBC Indiana has filed a lawsuit against TikTok over failures connected to failing to adhere privacy protections for certain content not to be accessible to younger users.

Since the rise and use of social media challenges come and go. What is very important as a parent, family member, or a responsible adult is to monitor social media use. We cannot be relaxed especially when a lot of challenges and misinformation circulates unfiltered on social platforms. TikTok gets most of the attention because it is Chinese.

Regulation and restriction have to be introduced and cover all existing social media apps. Unfortunately, those in power enjoy unlimited reach to people and because of the lobbying influence it does not seem that government officials will take bold steps to curb access to social media for younger users. That responsibility is left up to the parents, and they have to put in place the following:
