You know very well TikTok is a popular app. Also, it has caused fears with supposedly China eavesdropping and harvesting user data. In addition, the app has been banned on federal devices in the United States (U.S.).

As confirmed by a Mashable report, the Chinese-based app is testing 15-minute videos. Why? Probably to compete directly with Google’s gold mine YouTube.

As shown above, Matt Navarra shared a post confirming TikTok’s intent to allow certain users to “Upload videos up to 15 minutes long!”

Since its explosion during the start of the pandemic, TikTok has added more and more time to recording videos. Currently, you have the ability to record videos with the following lengths:

  • 15 seconds
  • 1 minute
  • 10 minutes
  • 15 minutes (with this newest TikTok update)
