TikTok temporarily bans Charlie, Bella, and Addison for guidelines violations. Coincidence?
When you think about TikTok, you think of short videos filled with comedy, hacks, challenges, and dancing. Actually, a lot has changed since TikTok took off and started rewriting the rules of social media engagement with its unique algorithm the For You Page (FYP).
The reason you have seen the ban on the TikTok photo for this article has to do with something exceptionally dramatic that happened within the app. According to Dexerto dot com, three important content creators were banned from the app. The three in question were Charlie D’Amelio, Bella Poarch, and Addison Rae.
Do not worry because their accounts were reinstated. Unlike other social media, apps were the threshold for getting restricted and banned seem to be more problematic for TikTok. Below are the mentions by these influential influencers on TikTok and beyond.

I was not able to locate a link to where Charlie posted something about this since she is the most active on TikTok. Do not forget she is still the most followed creator on the app followed closely by Khaby Lame.
It is true there is not one single creator with few or lots of followers to have been slapped with a community guidelines violation. But this one is different for these types of influencers. Think about it for a minute. Do you think TikTok can afford to get rid of them? All three of them command a combined 315 million followers.
You can come to your own conclusions but seems like a staged event to drive engagement or to foreshadow something in the works for one of these TikTokers.
TikTok testing a dislike button for comments in videos
One of the recurring problems on TikTok has been bullying. Specifically, within the comment section of videos. Looks like with this new feature TikTok wants to mitigate this problem.
“ We’ve started testing a way to let individuals identify comments they believe to be irrelevant or inappropriate. This community feedback will add to the range of factors we already use to help keep the comment section consistently relevant and a place for genuine engagement.”
What this means TikTok and the moderation teams will look at the negative influx of comments and depending on the severity remove them. On the company’s blog it explains it as follows:
“To make it easier for our community to find and use the built-in safety tools we offer, we’re experimenting with reminders that will guide creators to our comment filtering and bulk block and delete options. The reminders will be shown to creators whose videos appear to be receiving a high proportion of negative comments.”
