TikTok underwent a ban after the passage of the spending bill before the end of 2022. The saga with wanting to ban or completely diminish its influence on U.S soil continues for political purposes. According to Tech Crunch, more universities have jumped on the bandwagon in restricting access to TikTok on campuses and their respective web domains.

In the report, two of the following universities announced a ban against the app:

  • University of Texas
  • Texas A & M

These universities are not alone in announcing restrictions. As reported by NBC News, the list of secondary education institutions banning the app include:

  • Auburn University
  • Arkansas State University
  • University of Florida
  • The University System of Georgia
  • Boise State University

It seems at first sight, it was initiated by Republican led states. However, Democrat-based states are restricting the app too.
